Awards: USC Libraries Scripter ‘07

No Country For Old Men, written by Joel and Ethan Coen, has won the 2007 USC Scripter Award, beating Atonement (Christopher Hampton), Into The Wild (Sean Penn), Zodiac (James Vanderbilt) and There Will Be Blood (Paul Thomas Anderson), the other four finalists.

The Scripter Literary Achievement Award was awarded to to screenwriter Steven Zaillian, who has won three Scripters, for Awakenings, Schindler’s List and Gangs of New York.

“No Country For Old Men” has to be the most awarded film this season, winning awards left, right and centre. At least it is deserved, or so I am told.
