Pre-Cannes Pics

Posted in Film Festivals, Upcoming Film tagged , , , , , at 12:22 pm by Nick Plowman

If all goes planned, I will soon be blogging for a French news site on Cannes over the course of the festival – giving an outsiders opinion and insight into the goings on etc. I am not exactly sure how that is going to work out, but I am willing to give it a shot.

Anyways, /Film has posted a few pics of the films I am most interested in, including Steven Soderberghh’s “Che” being comprized of “The Argentine” and “Guerrilla,”Charlie Kaufman’s “Synecdoche, New York,” Woody Allen’s “Vicky Cristina Barcelona,” Bong Joon Ho, Leos Carax, and Michel Gondry’s “Tôkyô!.” More will be posted as they become avaliable – and if you do not want to see these pics, do not read/look any further, coz this post is picture packed. Seriously.

    i’ve never had a che poster/i’ve never been cool…

i’m so cool i have no interest in seeing the che film. ha ha…

Oh glimmer, how I have longed for the day you would visit this humble abode.

Well – me either, about the poster and the being cool – but I know all about those “cool kids” who worship the <b<idea of Che but their interest in him is honestly only superficial.

Of all the films making their splash at Cannes, I cannot say I am all that excited for the “Che” films, give me some “Synecdoche” or “Blindness” or “Vicky Cristina” over it any day.

You are welcome here ANYTIME glim, I have always admired your honesty and insight over at AwardsDaily, LiC and Cinematic Passions.

*bows down to the supreme awesomeness of Nicolas Plowman*

  6. Nick Plowman said,

Well, there really is no need to bow – I am pretty much dead on the floor sick with my laptop….so you would have to be real small….

But to tell the truth, when I told the people who asked me to do the Cannes stuff my age – I do not think they liked it. GOD, I am SO SICK OF AGEISTS.

That’s why we need to stick together J.D. – and Matt too, us hipsters {I don’t really know what that means} – I refuse to not be acknowledged just because I found out that I love film at a younger age than most – right?

    *undoes shirt collar*

I bet you all could do it in your sleep – but it could be fun ;)

  9. Nick Plowman: First stop Cannes, next stop…THE WORLD!

Age shmage. You’re mature for your years. If no one asks, don’t tell. If someone asks, lie.

No kidding. If we’re going off sheer writing, I would’ve pegged you for 25 – 30. Well played, good sir, well played!

Seriously, you’re very talented and this is the first stop on what I am predicting to be a very successful career, Nick. :)

  11. Nick Plowman said,

LOL Craig, I should be so lucky.

You are right about that lying thing….and usually I am so good at it. I guess sometimes I want people to be like “whoa, 16??? Seriously?!!!!” but they never really are, so I am done with that.

Caitlin – thanks for making my day! I really need to get out of SA and fly over to NYC and LA {making a stop in Texas of course}, and then see how tings go. I have just over a year o school left, then I am *free*

  12. J.D. said,

Dude, you’re older than me and STILL you impress me. :)

  13. Nick Plowman said,

Well, you make me seem like a slow, retarded, wannabee. For realz.

  14. J.D. said,

    Other way around, man.

    Other. Way. Around.

  15. Nick Plowman said,

Wannabee, retarded, slow? Now that does not make any sense.

  16. J.D. said,

    LOL. :)

  17. Nick Plowman said,

We are too smooth, and I seem to be running out of things to say.

  18. The Nick/JD mutual admiration society is awesome.

  19. J.D. said,

    ‘Tis.

  20. glimmer said,

    thanks nick/you’re too kind ! :)

  21. Congratulations Nicky! I keep telling you how awesome you are and yet you never listen to me. :-P

  22. Nick Plowman said,

Craig – like I said before somewhere, us young people need to stick together, besides J.D. is going to direct the film I write someday, for which we are both going to win multiple Oscars. We saw it happen in a crystal ball.

glim – I am only telling the truthiest of truths.

Matt – I know – but I mean, what if it falls through? It could, and then all these “congratulations” will just be embarrassing for me, but thanks for now ;)

  23. J.D. said,

And then you’ll direct a film I write and we’ll win multiple Oscars, and then we’ll both direct a film written by some random person and we’ll win multiple Oscars, and then we’ll write something directed by some random person and we’ll win multiple Oscars, etc etc etc… ;)

  24. Eh, you’d still be awesome. It would be the Cannes people who suck.
