Jason Reitman to go “Up in the Air”

Reitman Up in the Air

So Jason Reitman finally confirmed Latino Review’s suspicions - that his next film will be an adaptation of Walter Kirn’s best selling novel “Up in the Air.” The book, which I have read, is about Ryan Bingham who lives his life within the pressurized cabins of the numerous airplanes he makes use of as a Career Transition Counsellor. He is a man with a simple, yet sort of odd, plan. He aims to earn one million miles on his frequent flier account. Most people would settle for joining the mile high club…But that is all I am saying, I am not ruining anything - it is a really good book.

Walter Kirn’s other novel, “Thumsucker,” was adapted to film three years ago, which I also read, but the book was better than the film in all honesty. Let’s hope the Reitman touch helps this time around. /Film reminds us that when Reitman is finished with “Up in the Air,” he will move on to his next work, “Pierre Pierre.”

I really hope he thanks Ellen Page and his dad when he says his prayers at night…

This should be interesting. I loved “Thumbsucker” (the first time anyway, I was a little cooler on it the second time aroun), and think Reitman is a talented director, regardless of how I feel about “Juno.” I really liked “Thank You For Smoking,” so there’s great hope for this.

I agree Matt - I do think the guy is talented, and I loved the book, so I am optimistic.

I was wondering the same thing!

Maybe it is an inner demon?

    Maybe it’s Diablo……………?

Maybe. I would not be surprised.

She just thinks that all his “Juno” love was unwarranted. It was all her and Page’s doing that the film was so awesome. He had about 5% to do with it.

Maybe I am just getting carried away.

It was the Oscar nom… it was only ever meant to her and Ellen nominated… but he messed up her plan… and now it’s time for revenge…
