Only in America. Link Love (9/7/08)

  • What’s up with “Che“? I have no idea, but Karina Longworth is determined to find out. And it’s her birthday, so happy birthday to her.
  • Inglorious Bastards” is clogging up the blogosphere, much to my ambivalence. Vulture says that they have the script, as does Latino Review, and Living in Cinema’s Craig Kennedy says: “Still, if QT shows up at Cannes with more than a promo reel of the film, I will wear a dress for one whole workday and introduce myself to strangers on the street as “Nancy”.
  • Cineamatical talks about the really early screenings of “The Dark Knight.” Personally, I have no idea to see it at 6am. So it’s a good thing I will be seeing it on July 14th though. At a respectable hour.
  • Nikki Finki, grrrrrr, says Jon Favreau is a lock to direct “Iron Man 2,” due out in 2010. I can sleep so much better tonight.
  • The Playlist talks about Tilda Swinton’s oddness and her odd new film fest.
  • Alison Willmore posts links to and talk about a couple of trailers, including Tropic Thunder’s mockumentary “Rain of Madness” and my already reviewed “Death Defying Acts,” the one I thought was super-lame.
  • MTV has theNick and Norah’s Infitinite Playlist.” The Toronto bound flick is set to bow in the US in October. The poster is…I don’t know, boring.
  • Trailering: Ted Zee posts the trailer for Stacey Peralta’s doc “Made in America,” and it has me interested.
  • This just in, Fataculture wants to be more newsy. But, as usual, we’ll see.

Nick, I just gotta say that your blog is going from strength to strength. I’m so impressed with what you’re doing. You’re definitely on my short list (along with Daniel) of blogs I check out EVERY DAY. Keep up the great work!

Thank you so much Marilyn, that is so awesome to hear, especially from someone of your talent and significance in the blogging world. Of course, I read you everyday as well.

Awesome feature, hope it becomes a daily one.

Thanks back at you, Nick. I don’t know how significant I am, just glad people read me.

I’d say you’re pretty significant, Marilyn! I see your blog listed all over the place.

I also think this is nice little feature, Nick. Daily might be a little much to work on, but with some regularity it could turn out really nice.

Just – Thanks, I’m mostly going to use it to link to stories I am too lazy to report on, when I begin to get my news on that is.

Marilyn – I agree with Danny, I see you all over the place, but your work more than speaks for itself.

Dan – I’ll try to make it daily, I will try my best anyway ;)
