Poster: “Jennifer’s Body”

Interesting, no?

Fataculture is all about Diablo Cody, all the time. We’ve followed the rumours surrounding “Jennifer’s Body,” we’ve followed the casting, the screenplay, and so on, and now the poster. And it seems as though the “creators of Juno” took a page/one-sheet out of the creator of Six Feet Under’s book. Sure its probably a pretty rough cut of what the numerous posters that will spawn over the coming months will look like, but call me ordinary or boring or whatever, I just don’t get the fascination of blood dripping from the mouth of a mega hotty, especially when the idea isn’t even an original one. [ONTD]

And besides, even though Megan Fox plays the *titular* character, I would personally like to see Amanda Amanda Seyfried’s name next to hers on the final poster. After all, Seyfried will be far better suited to spouting Cody’s trippy dialogue than Ms. Fox, who isn’t even that hot. Yeah, I said it. There are hotter, more talented starlets out there, and I have a weird feeling that there is no way in hell she will be able to pull the role off for those of us not blinded by disillusioning hormones. Whatever, this film is so not being marketed for the me’s and you’s. All nerds living out of the dingy basements of their mother’s houses all across the world – major pants creamage.

Whose stoked for “True Blood” this September? I am. Whose stoked for “Jennifer’s Body” Sadly, I remain hopeful. Damn you hormones, I want my brain back.

Well Nick, the Cody involvement makes it intriguing despite those bloody unoriginal lips.

I also bucked the fashionable trend among the blogger-critics to dice JUNO,despite its spectacular regard by the professionals. I was most charmed by it.

Those lips really are so lame. I bet Cody had very little to do with that decision. I hope she has better taste than that anyway.

Yeah, we all know how much I loved “Juno,” I mean it was my number one film in my unofficial top ten so I can only hope [for Cody's sake] that she hits it home with all her upcoming endeavours.

  3. Sam Juliano said,

Hooray to you Nick! It was part of my own Top Ten as well.

  4. I still haven’t finished “Six Feet Under,” but I love it!

As for the poster…that’s kind of blatant. I hope I like JENNIFER’S BODY better than I liked JUNO.

Nick: It was reassuring to know that your defining love for JUNO among 2007 releases was shared by a spectacular 93% of those at watered-down RT, and even a more significant (stellar) 83% at the far more quality-conscious MC.
Also, JUNO was the #1 film of the year according to both Andrew Sarris and Roger Ebert. Talk about cross-appeal?! LOL.
Among others on the prohibitive love-wagon for Cody’s film were David Denby, A.O Scott and Stephanie Zachareck. You are in glorious company, Nick!

“Six Feet Under” is amazing Matty, I don’t know why I don’t have it on DVD.

I also hope that Ms. Cody comes up with something that you like as well. I’m sure she will sooner or later.

Sam, yeah, I am in good company, but it also sucks that a lot of other people I respect didn’t’ fall for it the way I did. It’s all good though, it made me feel like “Juno” was MY film you know, like it belonged to me. And I liked that. haha

  7. I have the first 2 seasons now, I’m working on watching season 2. I’m a total addict now.

Sam – forgive me. I’m sorry I don’t always follow the crowd.

  8. Nick Plowman said,

Unfortunately, I have not seen all the episodes, I have only seen bits here and there, a lot of bits but they are from all different seasons…so lol.

  9. Just don’t tell me how it ends. :-P

  10. Nick Plowman said,

Promise, it’s too good to spoil, so I won’t :)

Matthew, I assure you that my mentioning of the critical numbers of JUNO was in no way to be equated as any kind of residule animosity from that officially closed “row” of yesterday. It was basically to reassure Nick that his own opinion of having it #1 was not so preposterous.
I admit I don’t always go with the crowd either—fair enough.

Odd indeed, and I see /Film and the likes are only picking up on the True Blood similarities now. You beat em to the punch. Good on ya.

  13. Nick Plowman said,

I only beat then because projects have been on my mind a lot lately, and I never went to school today….lol

  14. Justin said,

Oh, and True Blood sounds fantastic, Anna Paquin is amazng.

  15. Nick Plowman said,

Isn’t she just? Love her. So looking forward to “True Blood,” wonder when we’ll get it in SA.
