Harry Potter 6 Moved to ’09, Twilight Prepares to Bow Competition Free

Everyone has been more or less stoked about the upcoming release of the already completed “Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince,” because not only is it one of the best books of the series, the trailer looks absolutely glorious. Well, those of us who had already been anticipating it’s 21 November ’08 release were given an unpleasant surprise when Warner Bros. decided to move the film to a 17 July ’09 release – almost a year from now. Not only am I pissed, so is EW.
Alan Horn, head of the struggling WB (in terms of selling off some of the acquired films) which apparently has a lack of summer tentpoles, said: “Like every other studio, we are still feeling the repercussions of the writer’s strike, which impacted the readiness of the scripts for other films, changing the competitive landscape for 2009 and offering new windows of opportunity that we wanted to take advantage of.”
That means that “Twilight” will make tons more money being the only supernatural film aimed at kids/tweens this year. MTV ponders the same thing, sorta. And it continues.

This saddens me deeply as well, I was so looking forward to Harry Potter, and was rather dreading Twilight.

I am looking forward to “Twilight,” I must say, the thought of it has grown on me. Besides, all my girl friends [the ones that have no lives] keep telling me how great the book is, and I want to see that for myself.
