Grey’s Anatomy Drama: Brooke Smith, AKA Newly Lesbian Dr. Erica Hahn, Fired
Everyone who thought the next cut to the cast of Grey’s Anatomy would be the amazing Katherine Heigl was wrong. Brooke Smith who played the outspoken, world-class heart surgeon Dr. Erica Hahn has been shown the door by the powers that be, who weren’t thrilled by the show’s recent trip “south of the border,” with the current homosexual relationship between Erica and Callie scorching up screens and giving the suits of ABC a panic attack.
Out of nowhere, yet another cast cut to my beloved Grey’s, and its too bad because the Callica romance is actually one of the best things about the new season, even though Hahn as a character generally gets on my nerves. I guess we now know how Mary McDonnell’s arrival next week as a top cardiac doctor at Seattle 
Grace will play out. Let’s just hope and pray Heigl is safe. Please don’t let her be next ABC! If ignorant, intolerant and downright insensitive television networks can’t handle homosexuality, how the hell can we expect the rest of the world to? If I didn’t need Grey’s in order to function in this life, I would totally boycott the show right about now. [EW]
In an interview with ONTD, Smith told them, “I was very excited when they told me that Erica and Callie were going to have this relationship. And I really hoped we were going to show what happens when two women fall in love and that they were going to treat it like any heterosexual couple on TV. And so I was surprised and disappointed when they just suddenly told me that they couldn’t write for my character anymore.”

This is incredibly sad indeed, I mean, the Callica storyline was just starting to get interesting…no fair at all. Boo ABC, just boo to you.

I am very proud of ABC for standing up to it’s morals and principles. I would hope that we all had the guts to stand up for what we believe in, even when we know so many other people might hate the oppinion.

Me n my friends are very disappointed to know that the character of Dr. Erica Hahn is being removed. The serial is very interesting n we are all addicted to it but the romance n the chemistry Hahn n Callie share sets the screen on fire, plus it gives another high to the serial. We were all excited n were eagerly waiting to see where their relationship was headed but i guess…….!!!!
So we request you please dont make any changes because i dont think the viewers are having any problem in fact they are more glued to the serial than before.
