Poster: ‘The Wrestler’
Slashfilm have the full “Wrestler” artwork up that In Contention eluded to just the other day, it is still a little blurry but it’s better than nothing, and the much buzzed about film is still without a trailer. The latest poster was unveiled at AFI the other day and while it ain’t as retro/throwback-awesome as the NYFF poster, it is just as good. Something I’d like to have hanging on my bedroom wall thank you very much. Regardless, I’ve spoken at length about how excited I am to see this already, so without extra meaningless padding from moi, I give you….a poster for a film by Darren Aronofsky (although with all the Rourke talk, you’d figure it was a one man show). Now we sit and twiddle our thumbs in hope of a trailer…
And if anyone cares, there are six new “Watchmen” character posters, and for two “Star Trek” (with a trailer for the latter coming next Monday).

Definitely a cool poster, of a great movie, with a great cast and a great director; so its expected. Just hope a trailer is released soon, to take the edge of a bit Nick ;)

Seriously! Rourke resurrected with Sin City! Come on! You’d swear The Wrestler was the second coming of Christ the way some people are going on.

Yeah, I know right? I am sure Rourke is brilliant in this, but its not like he has never given a good performance before, 2005 was not that long ago…but whatever, this is just promotion, I get it. Hopefully we get to see a trailer soon, it’s getting annoying waiting this long, even Benjamin Button has a trailer.

It’s good that Aronofsky has just made a regular, straight-forward movie. Everything he has made up until now has been pretty tricked up and I think that got the best of “The Fountain”. I just didn’t get that movie.

My heart stopped when I flashed on the Fataculture page, and I briefly though I was looking at a Nick Plowman review of THE WRESTLER. But I know it will be soon enough. Yes great poster, and the good vibes and buzz about this film continue to build.

i do like the poster.
and i haven’t seen the fountain. and maybe i don’t care to see it either.
and uh sorry c.c. i don’t know how good it is that
aronofsky has made a straight forward since the atmosphere is been all straight forward this year and pretty much evry damn year it seem things come award time is mostly a celebration of the trad and the straight forward.
it’s like evry one on the sort eternal quest to keep evry thing ‘normal’ well you know what i mean…
there’s too much straight foward. to much of it getting eaten up.to much of it crushing out the pretty much non chance of ‘dufferent’ stuff happeneing.
but i know that accoring to the ‘indie’ rules only one ‘differnt’ film each year is allowed to get some play. yeah sarcasm the lowest form of humor. sorry…
i’m sorry i’d like more ‘differnt’ things. guess that’s why i’m the weirdo in geek land…..

I’m kicking myself for not going to this at AFI, but I guess it’s coming soon enough. I’ve waited this long…
