Hiatus
I keep getting emails from people asking me why I haven’t updated here in forever and I guess I can see why it wasn’t clear to anyone I didn’t talk to behind the scenes. Well, my bad! Anyways, so I am focusing on my studies at the moment especially since exams are around the corner and everything. Even when I’m not focusing on school, its just so refreshing to not be HERE, blogging. Not sure why, but its rather relieving. I do miss here though. I do, really. I do miss watching movies and spending hours fighting with myself because I couldn’t write a review I was proud of. Mostly, I just miss the movies. But also…I don’t miss it at all. I think I will start a new blog when I am done with high school, and it will be focusing on well…anything I feel like talking about at all. Music, movies, television, random posts dedicated to gorgeous people…anything at all. For now, however, this place is gonna remain dormant, unless something hugely important pops into my brain and I feel the need to share it [unlikely].

I knew you were taking care of your own business, Nick, and am happy for it. I mean not really since I loved your writing, but yeah, no need to drive yourself crazy at the expense of your analog life. It’s always an ongoing struggle and I think many active bloggers would enjoy the respite that you’ve taken (speaking for myself, perhaps).
However, I have to say that if this is the end of Fataculture it will be a major void in your corner of the film world, which as an outsider always seemed larger and more significant than you would ever admit. But if you’ve put as much passion, insight, and energy into another venture outside of this blog (even if it’s just your schoolwork), chances are we’ll all end up benefiting somehow.
Enjoy the summer (winter?) and know that we’ll be thrilled if and when you make a return to blogging in whatever form. Cheers – D

Yes I must second what Daniel says there. Blogging is a minor concern, especially with a man as young as yourself. Yu are missed, and will always be missed, but there is no ongoing comittment here at Fataculture, which at best is an engaging diversion. I get the same feeling sometimes, as I’m sure Dan does. I think with all blogging, everyone gives it their all with varying degrees of longevity and then when they are fed-up they move on. And that’s pretty much as it should be. Best of luck with the conclusion of your school semester, our very good friend.

You know we love you Nick, really. Miss you like crazy, but yeah…blogging, no need to pretend its bigger than what it is, and I’m glad you are focusing on real life more than fun and games. Its for the best, I say.

Keep us in the loop on your future adventures and writings. You are a great young voice. Living in Los Angeles, it’s been a treat to read such thoughtful posts from so far away. Best of luck.

Yeah…what Danny said.
My brilliant and beloved Mr. Plowman, I know that you’re totally ambivalent about all this. But that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
I’m aware that you pour a lot of your creative energy into your site – and that enormous time and effort doesn’t fall from the sky. You’re in school, you have a family and good friends.
Too much pressure. Lots of commitments and things that have to get done. Only seven days in a week and 24 hours in each day.
Something’s got to give…
No worries, Nicky. We all love you (very much), support you and understand what you have to be concentrating on now at this point.
You’re a young man (your 18th is coming up!!!) and your legendary future awaits you.
For now, there are more important matters than blogging.
It will be sad if Fataculture does cease to exist. (If it continues at some point or a new site explores different directions, then that would be wonderful.)
But such things are ultimately for the best. We had the benefit of your great talent, fabulous insight and passion for cinema for a brief, shining moment.
So it is all “turn out the lights, the party’s over”…?
What will be will be.
You do whatever the hell makes you happy, honey boy.
No worries. The rest of us will adjust accordingly.
Just remember.
I adore you…

Dude, you have no need to explain or apologise. Take a break, recharge your creative batteries and don’t stress about blogging commitments which I know can feel overwhelming at times.
For the record, I think a return with a more “mixed subject matter” blog is a good idea. I know it helps me. As much as I love the movies, some days I’m just so cynical and fed up with the same things over and over again. Cheers.

Nick, you rock, okay? Know it, own it. Live it. Be it here, or elsewhere, dude, make things happen, you have the skills and the fans. You’re a rockstar baby. Pure and simple.

Nick,
take all the time you need. It will be sad if Fataculture comes to end but blogging does get tedious sometimes. That is why I setup mine so that I could post a little bit of everything like you wish to.
I still have not worked my way through some of your reviews I want to read so I, unlike others, still have something to look forward to from your site.
School and private life definitely come first Nick.
Thanks for the update of your status.
