Fataculture = Film and Television Appreciation Culture

I, Nick Plowman, am a film critic/fanatic/lover/freak (read: cinemaphile) who has only been obsessed with films for 2 years.  Considering my age, geographical location…..I’d say I’ve come pretty far. I am an indie boy, which means different things to different people. I hope to become a film director/writer but for now I am really enjoying being a blogger of the most amateur kind. I live in South Africa, which is not nearly as backward as some people have been led to believe, but we also see films so late after the folks in the US, that’s my biggest dilemma in life.

The two films that got me interested in the art of film, film awards, movie critiquing and made me want to become a screenwriter was…Thirteen {sad to say, but I was Tracey  – minus the girl parts – and the film is probably my favourite film of all time} and “Capote” starring the always amazing Philip Seymour Hoffman in 2005. Isn’t that something? I have seen way more “great” films since then an every-time I do, I fall in love with film all over again.
