About & Contact

Hey, Nick Plowman here. So do you want to hear about me or the blog? Well, the one is an extension of the other, sorta.

Film and Television Appreciation Culture

I have since decided that I will not write about Tv, but the name has stuck anyway.

I am a teenage film fanatic/lover/freak (read: cinemaphile) who has only been obsessed with films for 2 years. Shame on me right? Wrong. Considering my age, geographical location, lack of brain cells…..I’d say its pretty good. I am an indie boy, which means different things to different people. I hope to become a film director/writer but for now I am really enjoying being a blogger of the most amateur kind. I live in South Africa, which is not nearly as backward as some people have been led to believe, but we also see films so late after the folks in the US, that’s my biggest dilemma in life.

The two films that got me interested in the art of film, film awards, movie critiquing and made me want to become a screenwriter was…Thirteen {sad to say, but I was Tracey  - minus the girl parts - and the film is probably my favourite film of all time} and “Capote” starring the always amazing Philip Seymour Hoffman in 2005. Isn’t that something? I have seen way more “great” films since then an every-time I do, I fall in love with film all over again.

This blog is not even 1 years old yet - it is still very young and can hardly walk. But oh boy can it talk! I really want to get my own site soon, but for now, this blog is the best I have.

So please do not be a stranger, and do not hesitate to contact me for anything ever.
