Peter Gabriel Goes “Down to Earth”

Peter Gabriel’s amazing track from “WALL-E” knocks the wind right out of me every single time I hear it. I’ve tried to explain that, and I have put that song up for download, but I guess you can never say too much. I might know the lyrics off by heart now, but what I didn’t know was that the Soweto Gospel Choir sung {amazingly} in the background. Which is just like huge for them, seeing as the song will be nominated for a Best Original Song Oscar, and depending on it’s competition, it has a really good chance of winning. The song is only a mere component adding to Thomas Newman’s ethereal score on a fantastic soundtrack, making use of dusty old tracks like “It Only Takes A Moment” from the cheesy musical ”Hello, Dolly!” by Michael Crawford & Company, and Louis Armstrong to name a few. The soundtrack is one of the film’s many good qualities, and it is most definitely a keeper - i.e. one you would fork out cash for. To get a taste of it, download two tracks below.
