DVD Collection

You can never own all the films you want, and here is my recent wish-list: My Personal Wish-list, Amazon, 2007

As you may notice, my collection consists mainly of newer films, and not really many classics. I have only discovered my intense passion for film rather recently, and this collection has been built up over the course of 2 or so years. If you have anything to recommend, do not hesitate, I am always looking for new “discoveries”….

There is a film I want to buy almost everyday, and often I have more money than sense. A few of my purchases have resulted in guilt, usually if I buy a DVD without ever having seen the film and it turns out to be crap. It is great, however, watching a DVD for the first time and falling in love with it. My collection will only grow and grow, and I will keep my DVDs forever. I kid you not. Forever…

Walk the Line and Little Miss Sunshine were my favourite films of their respective years! Not sure about last year - never got to see Babel.

p.s. if you get to see a side-by-side comparison of Blu-Ray vs. DVD, you will burn your DVD collection. Watch a digital film at Nu Metro Montecasino Il Grandé, and you’ll see the full 2048×1080 splendour.

    I loved them both too.

I am just being ignorant about HD and Blu-Ray, I know they are better (and more expensive), but I am very picky when it comes to my DVD collection, so if I get one DVD that is High Definition or whatever, I would need to replace ALL my DVDs in HD as well. I have OCD :)

Besides, they are still expensive in SA, as are the hardware you need to watch them with, so I will wait. For the mean time, I will continue to buy standard DVDs, even though I know I am just wasting money!
